Connect, Support and Thrive Together
MASEFT provides support for therapists in learning about EFT through the high standard of EFT trainings.
MASEFT is an interest group organized by therapists who are passionate about Emotionally Focused Therapy in Malaysia. MASEFT is now an approved training provider recognised by Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia, or Malaysia Board of Counselor.
MASEFT aims to provide support for mental health professionals through collaborations with ICEEFT's (The International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy) certified EFT trainer(s), certified supervisors and other EFT communities, bringing you the highest quality of EFT trainings/seminars/workshops.
MASEFT hopes to strengthen its position into an organisation when the scale of members, training, and activities is sustainable to afford for this decision. The ultimate goal of MASEFT is to be part of the ICEEFT affiliated community.
As we do not have all the connections and channels necessary to access all information about establishing an interest group, we welcome constructive feedback that helps improve the standing of MASEFT in the Malaysia context.
We welcome any people who are interested in helping the development of MASEFT, including but not limited to website development, marketing, search engine optimization, page management, filing and documentations, and training coordination.
Our mission is to foster a supportive and enriching environment where professional members can explore the principles of EFT, gain insights into attachment styles, and navigate the complexities of emotional bonds and attachment injuries with guidance and empathy.
Dr Sue Johnson is the primary developer of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
EFT is an evidence-based approach and it has been validated by over 30 years of empirical research.
EFT approach is based on attachment science, and integrate humanistic, experiential approach to restructuring emotional experience, and a systemic structural approach to restructuring interactional pattern.
EFT is remarkable and a gold standard form of approach that helps people understand and improve their emotional connection and leading toward healthier and fulfilling relationship.
EFT is widely recognised for its versatility in working with couples, families and individuals.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) offers three distinct training paths, uniquely tailored to provide effective therapy for couples, individuals, & families. Each path is specialized to address the specific needs and dynamics of these different relational units, ensuring targeted and impactful therapeutic intervention.
By becoming certified in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), you can significantly enhance your therapeutic toolkit. This certification provides you with a research-supported approach to effectively address the intricate dynamics of couple relationships. As an EFCT therapist, you’ll be able to facilitate deeper emotional connections and improved communication among couples, bolstering your professional expertise and increasing your appeal to clients seeking meaningful and lasting relationship transformations.
EFIT is a groundbreaking therapeutic model that facilitates emotional processing and the creation of secure relationships with self and others. Originating from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, EFIT adapts these principles for individual therapy, offering a structured approach to help individuals address various challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship problems. EFIT’s unique approach empowers mental health professionals to help their clients transform restrictive emotional patterns, foster internal coherence, and build deep resilience. In other words, EFIT allows them to be fit to flourish in life and in love.
EFFT extends the principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy to mend and fortify familial bonds. The core objective is to cultivate secure family patterns, where attachment, caregiving responses, and emotional bonds are effective. EFFT centralizes on stabilizing negative interaction patterns, restructuring parent-child interactions, and consolidating the felt security through new connection patterns. Following attachment science, it guides families to experience swift progress as members become more responsive and engaged, uncovering and addressing previously unrecognized attachment-related emotions and needs, thus fostering individual growth and intergenerational relationship enhancement.
