Connect, Support and Thrive Together
EFIT Essential training is the introductory 24+ hour training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and the first step towards certification. This 4-day intensive training equips therapists with the competencies to tune into and harness the power of emotional processing and creation of secure relationships with self and others. Participants learn how to delve into the heart of attachment and humanistic experiential perspectives, explore the intricacies of affect regulation, and unveil the therapeutic dance of EFIT Tango to facilitate corrective emotional experiences. Completion of EFIT Essentials provides therapists with the tools to create lasting change in their clients’ lives. EFIT Essentials is equivalent to EFIT Level 1 + EFIT Level 2.
EFCT Externship is an immersive 4-day training experience, foundational for therapists aiming to specialize in EFCT. Led by certified trainers, it offers a comprehensive introduction to the EFCT model, focusing on the science of attachment and the systematic approach to couple therapy. This training is crucial for therapists because it equips them with the necessary skills to foster secure, resilient relationships in therapy. It's the first step in formal EFCT training, opening the door to advanced practice and certification, enhancing therapists' efficacy and confidence in their clinical work with couples.
Fundamentals (previously known as "Attachment Theory in Practice") is a one-day (6+ hour) introduction to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment theory for all modalities – individual (EFIT), couple (EFCT), and family (EFFT) therapy. This training will provide an outline of EFT, with an emphasis on attachment and relationships and sense of self, and how the EFT Tango applies to all three modalities.
More than just an EFT introductory course, Fundamentals of EFT provides the overall context of EFT and explains how the original “couple” model applies effectively as psychotherapy to EFFT (e.g., typically engaging with dyads) and EFIT (e.g., working with the individual and a younger/child self, or the individual and the inner experience of another person in their life)
